Middlesbrough Foodbank
Middlesbrough Foodbank is part of the Trussell Trust network of foodbanks:
- It has distribution centres in churches across Middlesbrough and receives support from over 100 churches and organisations locally and across North Yorkshire.
- Middlesbrough Foodbank works in partnership with a wide range of agencies who refer individuals and families facing food poverty.
All food is donated and the project relies on volunteers and the generous giving of local people if you want to offer support you can find out how here:
Central Mosque and Community Centre
- MiddlesbroughCentral Mosque & Community Centre (MCMCC) - 30 Southfield Road, Middlesbrough, TS1 3EX
- The Food Bank runs every: Wednesday between 9:30am to 10:30am
- There is an emergency out of hours number if anyone is in urgent need for food
- Centre registered for the voucher scheme so can give out food vouchers for locals to use.
Homelessness
Homelessness assessments are done by phone. If you're homeless and need support, please call 0800 130 3667 or 01642 726800.
You can go to Middlesbrough House to use a phone if you do not have one.
Nite Light
Middlesbrough Nite Light CIC hub is just opposite the bus station:
- 67 Newport Road, Middlesbrough, TS1 1LA.
They run a retail space, free food provision, and have facilities for members of the public to use such as showers, washing machines and dryers.
The hub is a space to run different projects such as a homework club, slow cooking classes, a crisp packet project which recycles the packets into sleeping bags and the creation of hygiene bags for men, women and children.
- The hub is open Fri and Saturday 9.30am to 2.30pm.
