Almost every Sunday, I wrote in my Christmas Letter, I meet people who ask for financial help. They come inside the church, or I meet them outside when I arrive or leave the church. People who ask, "Can I have a word with you, Father", but whose needs I soon discover I cannot meet. I have had to learn that, as a priest, I do not have the knowledge, nor the skills, to be a social worker; that in our town there is provision by various charities who offer support to those in need of the basics in life.

On 12 November, Wednesday, from 18:30 we celebrated Great Vespers with the Blessing of Loaves to mark the Feast of  St John Chrysostom. The sermon is attached below.

For two consecutive Sundays, 28 September and 5 October 2025, we were blessed to welcome Fr Anthony from the Monastery of St Anthony in Arizona.

This year's pilgrimage to the Holy Island took place on Saturday 4 October 2025.

Our Archdiocese of Thtateira and Great Britain is offering an online catechism course as a way of supporting its clergy in their outreach.

We had a truly wonderful day in the Lake District. We visited the beautiful Orthodox Church of Saints Bega, Mungo and Herbert in Braithwaite.

On 12 April 2025, Saturday of St Lazaros, Fr Andreas, Fr David and Fr Nikita celebrated the sacrament of Holy Baptism for our two new members John and Seraphima:

Mr Stewart Grainger is currently a Master’s student in History at Teesside University. He has a long-term interest in the events surrounding the Turkish invasion of Cyprus in July 1974 and decided, for one of his essays, to focus on both the lead-up to the invasion and its aftermath. As part of his research, he sought to speak with people from all sides in the conflict, including from the Greek Cypriot community, in order to learn about their personal memories of that time—how the events affected them, their personal recollections, and whether they had kept any memorabilia from the period.
